Wiltshire Sight, formally known as Wiltshire Blind Association, was set up in 1919 to support Blind and Partially-Sighted people from a residential house in St John Street, Devizes. The organisation was relaunched as Wiltshire Sight in September 2014 and moved into new premises at the St Lucy’s Centre, Bath Road, Devizes later that year.
In 2018, Wiltshire Sight joined forces with Vision West of England to expand provision of services to a much wider area, including Bristol, Bath and South Gloucestershire, where there has not been any local service provision for a few years.
Although Wiltshire Sight continues to support Blind and Partially-Sighted people throughout Wiltshire, all services are now delivered through the partnership with Vision West of England. This collaboration not only ensures that services are available to many more people in need of support, but also provides a more sustainable funding base for Wiltshire Sight to continue to provide services well into the future.
